# The processing mode of the inputs of the model built using Stream analytics

#### What are you trying to achieve? Please describe it in detail.

We would like to understand, what is the processing mode of the devices that sends data as inputs to the model built using the Apama stream analytics builder.

Is it persient processsing mode that means devices stores data to Tenant database and sends data to models input built using analytics model.  
or  
is it transient mode when devices send data to the real time engine.

#### Do you get any error messages? Please provide a **full error** message screenshot and log file.

#### Have you installed all the latest fixes for the products and systems you are using?

Hi,

there are actually 4 processing modes:  
[https://cumulocity.com/api/10.14.0/#section/REST-implementation/HTTP-usage](https://cumulocity.com/api/10.14.0/#section/REST-implementation/HTTP-usage)

Streaming analytics receives data send in processing modes CEP, TRANSIENT, and PERSISTENT but not in QUIESCENT.

The measurements / events / alarms that Streaming Analytics produces are in PERSISTENT mode.
