Changing Mailserver Authentication from Basic Auth to OAuth 2.0

Hi everyone,

I’m currently trying updating our mail configuration and was hoping some of you might have already gone through the same process.

The Problem is in our Cumulocity environment, we are currently still using the Basic Authentication (username, password) for sending emails via SMTP. Since Microsoft is deprecating and shutting down Basic Auth for SMTP AUTH in Exchange Online, we are now required to migrate to OAuth 2.0 .

We are wondering whether this is even possible, or whether the mail settings in Cumulocity are strictly limited to Basic Authentication. If someone has already managed to configure OAuth 2.0 any hints or experiences are greatly appreciated.

Hello Valerian,
currently OAuth 2.0 email server configuration in Cumulocity is not implemented.
Please raise a Cumulocity Support Ticket and then I will clarify how we can support this in the future.

thank you for the quick response. I have raised a Cumulocity Support Ticket as suggested. I believe that this is not just an issue for us, other customers will likely face the same challenge. So hopefully this will be picked up and supported in a future release of Cumulocity.
