[Notification 2.0] org.svenson.JSONParser - Property 'webSocketOnly' will be ignored

Hi,

We have been facing an issue while using Notification 2.0 API based on Cumulocity version 2026.22.0.

The error was that the measurement subscriptions suddenly stopped to work and in the Microservice logs running on C8Y cluster the following error message was logged:

org.svenson.JSONParser : Property ‘webSocketOnly’ will be ignored as it was not found in class com.cumulocity.sdk.client.messaging.notifications.TokenClaims

The error message was received around 130 times in couple of milliseconds interval. After that there was a pause for 15 minutes. This behavior was repeated after the pause.

As a result the measurement subscriptions were not working and they were not able to recover.

The unsubscription/subscription of the microservice solved the issue.

Could you please support us to find out respectively solve this issue?

The very same ticket was created also on https://github.com/Cumulocity-IoT/cumulocity-clients-java/issues/498

Hi Attila,

The error message

org.svenson.JSONParser : Property ‘webSocketOnly’ will be ignored as it was not found in class com.cumulocity.sdk.client.messaging.notifications.TokenClaims

is mainly related to getting or refreshing a token for Notification 2.0. It appears on successful requests unfortunately, so it might not be related to your issue.

Your issue, that you see that message, might be related to your custom code that tries to get/refresh a token multiple times without a delay for any reason.

My suggestion would be to review your logic and check what’s going on. For example:
Is the token expired? Are you doing a correct refresh of the tokens in time? Are you caching/reusing tokens? What is the REAL root cause of your connection dropping?
